COURTOIS ROLLS ON

Thibaut Courtois, that’s the name of a 22 years old goalkeeper who is making headlines all over the world with consistent performances in every single match he performs and is already being hailed to be as one of the best shot-stoppers in the world despite being so young. It takes a truly special player to push Petr Cech out of the starting lineup and into the sidelines of Chelsea but Courtois has somehow managed to do it.

Ever since Cech signed with Chelsea back in 2004, he established himself as the undisputed goalkeeper of Stamford Bridge but his time is reaching its inevitable end with Courtois being the man to begin and follow the path that Cech left off.

Chelsea has made a superb start of a Premier League season as they have played so far at the time of writing this article, 5 league matches and are located at the top of the English League with 13 points being collected. The entire squad of Jose Mourinho has helped in some way in accomplishing this task but there are 2 players that deserve much more praise than anyone else and those are: Thibaut Courtois and Diego Costa.

Chelsea's new boys have seen them become Premier League favourites (Enter to William Hill - The world of betting to see the latest odds).

Diego Costa has scored 7 goals in 5 Premier League matches as the former player of Athletic Madrid is at the top of the goal-scoring charts of England and it doesn’t look like he will be stopping or slowing down anytime soon.

Thibaut Courtois is the other player that has made a more significant impact at Stamford Bridge during these opening stages of the Premier League with stunning performances specifically during Chelsea’s matches against Burnley and Leicester City.

The young Swiss shot-stopper had to be at the tip of his toes to deny Scott Arfield from scoring as he produced impeccable saves throughout the entire match against Burnley and 5 days later when Chelsea battled it out with Leicester City it was once more Courtois who continued making a string of saves as he maintained a clean sheet after the 93 minutes of the match was over.

All of these impressive sequences of performances have dropped Petr Cech to the sidelines of Stamford Bridge and he is even rumored to be leaving Chelsea in January when the transfer window re-opens. Petr Cech has played a huge role in the Premier League club but now the future is Thibaut Courtois.
